So yesterday at work I had to do a yearly survey called the EES, which stands for Employee Engagement Survey. I learned that the hotel spent over two million dollars this year on renovations and maintenance. There was a bunch of stupid questions like "Do you think the Fairmont standards help you do your job better?" and "Do you feel what you do is important to the company?" One answer I sure of is, NO I don't think the company cares about me as an individual.
That was not the most exciting thing that happened to me yesterday. What was cool was I saw John Lovitz in the lobby. I didn't work up the nerve to talk to him even though he was about 2 feet away from me, probably because he didn't look too happy. I wanted to tell him that I love The Critic but I thought that might piss him off more.
