Went to an awesome Vietnamese place with Doorman Juan from the hotel. Apparently this place called Saigon Cafe, located at Larkin & Eddy in the city, has been there for a while and sells some ridiculous number of their sandwiches a day, and there's always a line around the block. No wonder. I tried one chicken and one pork and they were both crazy tasty. Along with the marinated meat, they put carrots, cilantro, secret sauce, and jalapenos. These things are nothing to sneeze at.
After an amazing lunch, I back to chinatown for more christmas shopping.
A while ago I was working at the door at the hotel overnight. A couple of Chinese businessmen came up to me and started conversing with me in cantonese or something. I know a few phrases like "thank you," " good night," and other stuff like that in chinese but these guys were talking about that. After a few minutes of confused looks I was able to make out that they said I should go to Hong Kong. Sure I'd like to do that. Then they told me I should smoke their brand of cigarettes. One of them showed me a red box with chinese characters and Chunghwa spelled on it. Sure.
So after lots of awesome chinatown shopping I found a liquor store close to Jackson St. that sold Chunghwa's. I asked the lady working there for two packs but I accidentally called them "Chinghwas" and I think I may have offended her.
Went back home and watched 'Heroes' with my bro. Another bomb-ass-pussy episode.
Also I tried those Chunghwa cigarettes and they're soooo not tasty. They taste the way those herbal pharmacies and markets in chinatown smell. Not great. I regret buying two packs.
