Sunny Saturday makes me smile

A wonderful Saturday morning here, sun is shining from a blue blue sky, it’ll hit my balcony in the afternoon, so right now I’m able to sit outside with the laptop. It’s quiet and people around me are just waking up. It’s Constitution Day and the day will be filled with meetings and speeches all over the country. I’m not going to any, but will watch a summary on the news. We’re getting pretty close to an election, the government has launched this crisis package and as no surprise it’s the weakest people paying again. The speeches today will be centered around this I’m sure. My plans for today include going to the local fleamarket.

I had questions from twicet  and I might get a bit of topic, but it’s great questions

1. So tell me about this road trip, what do you want to see and do? When I was a kid there was this documentary about a family travelling through Africa, I was very taken with it. The main thing would be to see the wildlife, would be quite amazing. I’m not at all sure where to go, first I suck at African geography and so many places would be too dangerous. I’d love to go to Madagascar and Kenya. And SouthAfrica even after the world cup, it was always forbidden land with the boycott all through my childhood and youth. But doubt I’ll ever make it, there’s a better chance of making my cross country American tour, probably start on the east coast. I would visit the Laura Ingalls Wilder museum, I loved those books, still do. I have relatives in Minnesota I would very much like to visit and there’s all the things you have to see, ending in San Francisco with a flower in my hair. And now that I have several Canadian friends I’d have to make a little detour. ;)
2. What freedoms does lj give you that were unexpected? I didn’t really expect anything, but if someone had told me I would be meeting interesting people and interact with them, sharing my thoughts, become friends and doing it in English. I think I would have laughed…Yeah right. It’s given me the freedom of having some place to turn to, I’m not as scared as I used to be and I bring that confidence into rl too.
3. Your ideal date for the night. What is he like and what do you do? Oh oh, Never been the great dater, but a sense of humour is a must. Something to eat would be nice, but not anything fancy, I’d much rather have a hotdog than a seven course meal in an expensive restaurant. Going for a walk, talk, sit somewhere, laugh, maybe find an outdoor concert, have tea and cake at a café. If he’s a good kisser, I’ll wake up in his bed the next morning ;) (And if he’s a dentist I’ll marry him and get my teeth fixed for free) ;P
4. What part of your job gives you the greatest pleasure and why? Getting pay ;D  I think the greatest pleasure is when a very simple idea turns out to be a big hit. We start the day with coffee and talk in our group, it’s hard to get everyone interested/involved in a discussion and sometimes we just hit gold, like today; it was karaoke Friday and we talked about it and I suggested that we made a list of which songs they wanted to sing, to make it easier for the one running the show, the result was our group was very well represented at the karaoke and one of our young women went up and sang for the first time, giving her a success experience and appetite for more performances in the future. Small things but it’s just so great to witness people grow. Another thing I love is the holiday trips, you get to know them so much better when you’re together 24/7. It’s a lot of fun and always gives a lot of inspiration and explanations. I volunteer to go on all the trips I can, this year I have two; Berlin in 3 weeks and Jutland in September.
5. Apart from movie watching! what is your relaxing pleasure? Reading, writing, sleeping, planning/dreaming. I love rearranging furniture it might sound very unrelaxing, but it does relax my brain and I often find long forgotten things. I like cartoons and everytime I move them I end up with reading some album. Crosswords which has been a while since I did, but sun and balcony=crossword. Being with Per. I think I’m most relaxed when with him. We know each other so well and have the same sense of humour, a lot of shared knowledge, we laugh a lot and agree on how great our kids are and that we have the best ex in the world. ;)
