Getting Used To Being Cellphone Only

Jun 08, 2024 23:04

Still haven't gotten used to having only one phone in the house since canceling the VOIP landline, which I had a handset in every major room. I was sitting here at the desktop in the bedroom, I just happened to glance to my right, and saw the empty cellphone stand on the desk, then realized I'd left the phone in the living room, where I was watching TV earlier.

If someone were to call overnight/early morning, I'd never hear the phone ring from that distance. Unlike most people these days, I still mainly just use the phone for making/receiving calls. Only texts I get these days is doctor appointment reminders and notifications from the pharmacy a prescription refill is ready for pickup. All my other "internet" based stuff is done on the desktop PC, the reason I have the cheapest phone plan I can get, unlimited talk/text, but the plan has a 5GB/month data limit, which I'll never use. Paying $180/year for the plan.

cellphones, forgetfulness, plans, internet
