Ozzie and Harriet and Music Royalties
While watching the DVD releases of "The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet" episodes where Ricky started singing regularly, it makes me wonder, since the musical numbers are left intact, and most were popular songs originally performed by other singers at the time, exactly HOW much is MPI Video having to pay for music royalties, considering how cheap they are selling the season sets for?
Then again, since they are also licensing the shows out to streaming services like Prime almost at the same time the DVD sets are coming out, maybe that is subsidizing the music royalty fees to allow for cheaper DVD prices.
