This evening I digitized the final three "Albert's Album Cuts" episodes, another fictional radio series I nearly forgot about from the Tape and Record Show Enterprises archives, I guess because it only had five episodes produced...
"Albert's Album Cuts: Episode 3. Broadcast Wednesday, January 22, 1986 at 7:30pm central. Theme Music: "Goodbye" (Benny Goodman and Orchestra). This week's album is Steve Goodman "Artistic Hair". Songs: East St. Louis Tweedle Dee, Let's Give A Party, Elvis Imitators, Tico-Tico, Red Red Robin, Chicken Cordon Blues, City of New Orleans, The Three Legged Man, You Don't Call Me By Name.
Albert's Album Cuts: Episode 4. Broadcast Wednesday, January 29, 1986 at 7:30pm central. Theme Music: "Goodbye" (Benny Goodman and Orchestra). This week's album is Steve Goodman "Affordable Art". Songs: If Jethro Were Here, Vegematic, Talk Backward, How Much Tequila Did I Drink Last Night, Take Me Out To The Ball Game, Dying Cub Fans Last Request, California Promises, Watching Joey Glow.
Albert's Album Cuts: Episode 5. Broadcast Wednesday, February 5, 1986 at 7:30pm central. Theme Music: "Goodbye" (Benny Goodman and Orchestra). This week's album is Fleetwood Mac "Penguin". Songs: Remember Me, Bright Fire, Dissatisfied, The Derelict, Revelation, Nightwatch."
Not sure of my thinking when recording the "plot" on episode five (can't remember that far back). At the start of the program, I said the album was released in 1978. Later, I announced that an irate "caller" called in and informed me the album was actually released in 1973. A bit later in the program, I announced another "caller" informed me I had the band member line-up wrong. Funny thing, being a "pretend" radio show, never actually "broadcast" over airwaves, there were no "callers". Guessing I was going for "added entertainment value" when planning out that particular episode.
