Four More Down, Four To Go

This evening, I digitized the next four episodes of the Tape and Record Show Enterprises fake radio series "TRS Presents: Soap" from the original "broadcast" audio cassettes...

"TRS Presents: Soap, Episode 58: Previously Unreleased Episode. Theme Music: Swing Swing Swing(John Williams). In this week's episode: Jessica agrees to let Chester live in the guest room when he promises to get help for his problem with infidelity, Jodie has trouble finding a nanny for Wendy; Mary considers this an opportunity to ask him to move back home with his parents, the real Burt feels insecure about living up to Alien Burt's sexual performance, Billy has his 18th birthday party but the festivities are strained by Jessica's anger at Chester and Dutch's mistrust of Eunice, Jodie agrees to move back home with his parents, Leslie announces that she's quitting her job so she and Billy can pursue their relationship more freely. / Musical Intermission: "When We Was Fab" (George Harrison).

TRS Presents: Soap, Episode 59: Previously Unreleased Episode. Theme Music: Swing Swing Swing(John Williams). In this week's episode: The Campbells welcome Jodie back home, Jessica and Chester consult a minister about their marital problems; Chester is committed to reforming his promiscuous ways, but is tempted by the minister's daughter Gloria, Danny meets Polly's family but Polly's brother Eddie disapproves of him, Mary is pregnant according to their doctor, Burt has a terminal illness also according to their doctor. / Musical Intermission: "When We Was Fab" (George Harrison).

TRS Presents: Soap, Episode 60: Previously Unreleased Episode. Theme Music: Swing Swing Swing(John Williams). In this week's episode: Burt doesn't tell Mary that he's dying, Danny and Polly profess their love for each other, Billy and Leslie have their first sexual encounter, Danny is torn by his feelings for Polly and his fears about being in an interracial romance in a world which is less than tolerant of such things, Mary comes to the ghastly realization that Alien Burt might be the father of her baby. / Musical Intermission: "Living With A Hernia" ("Weird Al" Yankovic).

TRS Presents: Soap, Episode 61: Previously Unreleased Episode. Theme Music: Swing Swing Swing(John Williams). In this week's episode: Danny learns that Burt is dying, Burt expresses a desire to get himself in the Guinness Book of Records before he dies to make sure that he has done something notable with his life, Eunice asks Corinne to cover for her so she can continue to cheat on Dutch, Chester is seduced by Gloria the minister's daughter, Polly brings her family to the Campbell family home for dinner and misunderstandings between the two families abound, Jessica throws Chester out permanently after he confesses to cheating on her again with Gloria. / Musical Intermission: "Addicted to Spuds" ("Weird Al" Yankovic)."

There were a total of nine extra episodes of "TRS Presents: Soap" which were edited/compiled that were never "aired" by Tape and Record Show Enterprises before the organization started fizzling out in the late 1980's. In other words, the cassettes exist, but no written record of any "airings" in the archives. The program descriptions for the "unreleased episodes" are recreated for the digital transfers. After one of them was digitized the other evening, and four transferred tonight, that leaves four remaining, then that will be another "Tape and Record Show Enterprises" series which will be completed and crossed off the digitization list. However, it doesn't mean I'm nearly finished with the digitization project. I still have several "unreleased" edited/compiled episodes of "The Independent Sampler" left to convert, and after that, I plan on going back and transferring several "master" audio cassettes of unedited recording sessions featuring myself, Randy Haney, James Stricklin, Jerry Sanders, Paul Morrison, etc. What I've been digitizing currently have mostly been the "edited for 'broadcast'" versions of the shows, which derived from those "master" cassettes.

RANDOM THOUGHT: Being I purchased the budget "Ion" branded cassette deck a few years before starting the digitization project (pre-esophagus surgery in 2018), and it was stored in the closet until I started the project, I'm somewhat amazed the thing has held up well so far. No "major" audio company has manufactured an actual "deck" in ages, thus buying the "Ion" deck at the time. Although, I'm using "Line Out" from the deck into the PC instead of the USB feature, since the USB feature was only outputting one channel into the current desktop, making that feature worthless.
