Getting Low on "Soap"...

May 19, 2023 23:03

This evening, I digitized the next four episodes of the Tape and Record Show Enterprises fake radio series "TRS Presents: Soap" from the original "broadcast" audio cassettes...

"TRS Presents: Soap, Episode 54: Broadcast Monday, June 29,1987 at 8:30pm central. Theme Music: Swing Swing Swing(John Williams). In this week's episode: The Tates and the Campbells have a dinner party, Millie leaves Danny because she thinks his family is crazy, Billy and his teacher meet in her apartment and are confronted by her ex-husband, Burt vanishes right in front of Mary in the corner pharmacy, and the aliens cannot persuade fake Burt to beam himself up.

TRS Presents: Soap, Episode 55: Broadcast Monday, September 12,1988 at 8:30pm central. Theme Music: Swing Swing Swing(John Williams). In this week's episode: Mary tells Jessica about Burt's disappearance, Corrine confronts Chester about his affair, Billy and his teacher run into half the Tate family at a hotel, and Burt confronts his alien double.

TRS Presents: Soap, Episode 56: Broadcast Monday, September 19,1988 at 8:30pm central. Theme Music: Swing Swing Swing(John Williams). In this week's episode: Billy tells Jessica about his love affair with his teacher, Burt explains to Mary what happened on the space ship, Danny meets a woman at the cemetery, Eunice and Dutch have an argument, and Mary tells Jessica about the aliens. / Musical Intermission: "Devil's Radio" (George Harrison). [Last Episode Broadcast By TRSE]

TRS Presents: Soap, Episode 57: Previously Unreleased Episode. Theme Music: Swing Swing Swing(John Williams). In this week's episode: Jessica tells Chester not to come home after catching him and his latest mistress in a hotel room, Burt and Mary get a routine medical exam, Danny tells Burt about his infatuation with Polly, Jessica meets Leslie despite her misgivings about Billy's getting involved with his high-school teacher, Jodie has his fitness to care for Wendy challenged by the Child Welfare Department / Musical Intermission: "Got My Mind Set on You" (George Harrison)."

With episode 56, it wraps up the digitization of all the "broadcast" episodes of "TRS Presents: Soap". However, I'll still have nine more episodes left to digitize, since there were that many which were edited/compiled for the "TRS Presents" series which were never "aired" by Tape and Record Show Enterprises before the organization started fizzling out. In other words, the cassettes exist, but no written record of any "airings" in the archives. The program descriptions for the "unreleased episodes" are recreated for the digital transfers.
