Sigh. Ochsner just called with an appointment time for my next doctor visit, but I almost missed the call, because they called the cellphone instead of the home phone. Almost didn't hear the cell ringing since it's in the next room on a charger.
Their online account page requires both the home and mobile number spaces be filled in when making an account, but there's an option on which one to make as the "primary" number. I made the home phone "primary", since about the only time I use the cell is when I grab it when leaving the house, mainly in case an emergency might crop up.
I told this to the woman that called. She said that was the second time they had tried to call me with the appointment. I obviously didn't hear the first call. She said she'd change which number to call. After the call was over, I went to the website to check my contact info. She put the mobile number in the home phone field, and the home number in the mobile phone field. I switched it back, and clicked "Primary" for the home phone again.
I'm guessing the main issue is that everyone these days expects the MAIN phone to be a mobile phone, since with most people I know personally, that is the case now. However, I'm not "most" people. My main phone is still the home phone.
