Tonight, I continued the Tape and Record Show Enterprises archives audio cassette digitization project, by converting the next three "Tape and Record Show" episodes from season eight...

"The Tape and Record Show: Episode 473. Broadcast Friday, November 21, 1986 at 10:00pm central. Theme Music: Portable Radio(Daryl Hall and John Oates). "Movie: The Blues Brothers"(1980)" - Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi star in this 1980 film about two brothers' attempts to save a Catholic childrens home from being closed down. In part one, Jake and Elwood make attempts to put their old blues band back together to make money needed for the home. Also stars: James Brown, Cab Calloway, Carrie Fisher, Henry Gibson, Ray Charles, and Aretha Franklin.

The Tape and Record Show: Episode 474. Broadcast Friday, November 28, 1986 at 10:00pm central. Theme Music: Portable Radio(Daryl Hall and John Oates). "Movie: The Blues Brothers"(1980)" - Conclusion. Jake, Elwood, and the band plan a big blues concert to raise money for the orphanage, get the money they need, and end up in the Joliet prison. Stars John Belushi, Dan Aykroyd, Ray Charles, and John Candy.

The Tape and Record Show: Episode 475. Broadcast Monday, December 15, 1986 at 8:30pm central. Theme Music: Portable Radio(Daryl Hall and John Oates). The early days of the heavy metal group "Battle Axe" are recalled in this TRSE exclusive presentation featuring rare early recordings of the group when they were known as "Crystal Warrior". These December 1984 recordings feature Robbie Danna, Tim McCullar, Mark Brown, and Mark Hargedine(sp?), as recorded in the living room of Robbie Danna's house and the storage units behind the Shell gas station on Well Road in West Monroe, Louisiana."

The Tape and Record Show presentation of "The Blues Brothers" film has around twenty minutes trimmed from the total original run time, to fit into two one hour "broadcasts". Being audio only, not much is lost with the edits however.

The "Crystal Warrior" sessions are an "awkward" recording today, mainly due to my original narration, which was based on James Stricklin's info at the time, who lived next door to Danna, and is probably very inaccurate, being one person in the music group (Brown) threatened to "sue" ages ago when I uploaded a small portion of the "broadcast" in the early 2000's based on my narration. Also, it's obvious I had a head cold when I narrated. My original narration is intact in the digitization. Banter between the band members is heard between performances, because, even though they wanted me to stop tape between songs, I sneakily left the tape rolling. There is heavy "hiss" throughout the recordings, but it was coming through the groups amplifiers. Did as much "cleaning" as possible with the software for the digitization. This is a 90-minute episode.
