You're probably reading this post and saying to yourself, "Wait... Dr. Demento did a show for Tape and Record Show Enterprises???", which my honest answer would be, "Not that he was 'aware' of." This was another ACTUAL radio show I recorded from its original REAL broadcasts and chopped down into half hour "episodes". I was trying to fill out time slots in the weekly TRSE fake broadcast schedule, and was short a few series, so, like Dennis Goodwin's "Independent Sampler", I "commandeered" Barry Hansen's nationally syndicated show and turned it into an "unofficial" TRSE series. Only difference between the two "commandeered" shows, I informed Dennis I was using HIS show at the time. Mr. Hansen had no clue "TRSE" even existed. The "layout" of both shows was basically the same, a few songs played, with announcements before and after a few songs in a row, except Dr. Demento didn't say "Uh..." quite as many times as Dennis did. :-P

Luckily, since Tape and Record Show Enterprises was "fictitious", never ACTUALLY "broadcast" anything (only the folks in the "circle" knew about it), and made no profits of ANY sort, it kept TRSE/me from being sued into oblivion! Technically, the use of the recordings could be filed under "fair use".

Still not "profiting" off anything I recorded back then. Both the original productions AND the current digitization project have been "money suckers" on my "bottom line", but they are fond memories for me. Happier times.
