Before I begin this, I would like you all to know that I'm still working on it. I just wanna get this down before I forget it. Also, if you have any constructive comments you would like to make, please do so. I you are an asshole, like the last fucker that left a comment with out leaving a name...which i know, and will not revil...then you can go fuck yourself! Also, I know the spelling is bad...I don't do spell check for a reason...this is a journal, not an essay.

The Rabbit and the Dove...

It was about one thirty in the morning, I was walking the streets like every other sleepless night. I had just scored some good haroine from a dealer I've known for years, he gave it to me for fre...well, it was almost free. I didn't wait, I was really hard up for a hit, so I shot up right there...before I even had a chance to put my clothes back on. After, I decided to go for a walk, a long one because I had lots to think about.

I must have walked around the city over twinty diffrent times, just taking in all the vibes it gave off. Most people say that they hate the city life, but I loved it. I could never feel comfertable unless there was a gunshot or a cabbie yelling. I was born in the siment jungle, and I had planned to die there. To finish my life's cycle the same way I was born, breathing in smoggy air.

As I walked the streets that night, something felt diffrent. I knew that somemthing was not right, but I couldn't quite place it, so I didn't bother with it. Everything started comming to me when I rounded the corner of 5th and Main. I heard a woman screaming, so I ran to see if I could help, or at least call the cops. When I reached the alley wher the shrieks were comming from I was taken by a big suprise. There, nailed to the deadend wall, was my body. Wire tied around my wrists and ankles nailed to the wall kept me suspeneded against the brick. I backed up, wanting to scream but nothing would come out...only gasps for breath. I started to run, thinking that maybe I was just seeingthings because of lack of sleep. Then I stumbled and fell, when I looked back to see what it was I stumbled over, I saw my body again. This time, it was nude and a needle was stuck in my left forarm. I screamed this time and hurried to my feet, when I was standing I started running again. I ran, faster and faster, never looking back. I was so scared.

Finally, after what seemed like ages of running, I found a church. It was old, and borded up at the door and most of the windows. I didn't take any chances, I ran inside to hide. When I entered, I saw a woman who had just entered. She was dressed in all white, and looked somewhat like a nun. This lady had a very slinder form, and was fairly tall. I watched as she dipped the tips of her fingers into a basin of water and cross her chest. The water looked so pure, so clean and untouched when she wet her fingers. As I walked past the basin I saw that the water wasn't clean, no, it was full of rust and dirt. Everything else was in ruins as well. As I walked along the tattered crmson rug leading to the alter, I looked around and saw everything. The stained-glass windows were all broken, and dim moonlight was filtering though. The pues were covered in cobwebs and dust, and the walls were all bare stone.

"Excuse me," I found myself barely whispering as I stopped halfway between the door and the nun, who was knelt praying at the alter. She slowly stood up, kissed her rosary, and turned to face me. Her face was so flawless and had sort of a glow to it. I could see some of her hair, it was a light auburn color, and her eyes were a soft, placid, comferting blue. She looked like an angel.

"Yes, child?" The woman inquired, taking another few steps closer to me.

"Is this a save place, I mean, can I stay here for the night?" I inquired with a shaking tone in my voice.

"Yes, of course it's a safe place. I've been comming here for twenty years now, and I've always been safe." She smiled at me and I huddeled my arms close to me and took a seat on on of the pues. The lady walked up to me, placed her hand on my shoulder and smiled down at me. "You are the rabbit, Shannon." She whispered. I lept to my feet and ran to the otherside of the room. How did she know my name? I reached for my razor, but it wasn't in my boot like always, so I grabbed a broken shard of one of the windows.

"Who the fuck are you," demanded I.

"My name is Maria, I am the dove." She replied as she walked closer.

"Rabbit, dove...what are you talking about?"

"When someone dies, their soul is caried to the afterlife by a spirit guide. These guides are diffrent things to diffrent cultures, I myself used to believe they were angels. The truth of the matter is that your guide is nothing more than the personifaation of your soul, and you're strongest trate. I am a dove, my strongest trate was peace. Even when I was murdered, I did not fight back. You, Shannon, are the rabbit. When you died, you guide led back here, to this world. You were lucky." She took the shard from my hand and tossed it to the side, she then embraced me.

"How am I lucky? If I am dead, then how am I lucky?"

"You've been given another chance. You can change the mistakes you made, and enter the afterlife to rest, as you should."

"And if I don't right these mistakes?"

"You have all of the time you will ever need to change anything you wish." She pushed away from me a little, gazing at me with those eyes of her. I felt calm, tranquil, at peace.

I stayed there, in the abandon church with Maria. I made it my new home, because I knew I wouldn't be leaving anytime soon. It's funny, people always say that you see a light when you die...I didn't see anything. I didn't feel anything, I didn't even know. Things like that are interesting to me, they can't be explained...and never will be explained, I guess that's why it's called faith.

Like I said before, there's a lot of work that needs to be done with it. But, I needed to get that down before i forgot it. Feel free to leave constructive comments.
