Plumber came today
I'm home from work today as we had a plumber coming to look at the drainage of our kitchen sink. He came this morning and did a good job fixing the problem... which was that the pipe under the floorboards had become unattached, so water was leaking out all over the place under the floor for God knows how long.
Anyway, he had to cut a hatch in the kitchen floor to get under there and fix it. Now we need to get our home insurance involved to clean up the mess under the floor, then redo our kitchen floor and at least part of our cabinets. It's a hassle, but at least the root cause of the problem has finally been discovered and sorted.
We've got visitors from Canada (Jim and Susanne) coming in July so hopefully we can get the kitchen all sorted out by then...
