The Greenland Whale Fisheries
Another for my song hall of fame... "The Greenland Whale Fisheries" performed by Judy Collins and Theodore Bikel
I used to live in Salem, Massachusetts which had a rich maritime history. We were only a few blocks from the harbour, Custom House, House of Seven Gables... and the Peabody Museum which had a lot of exhibits about the days of the clipper ships and trade with the far east. I also lived near the shore in Beverly, MA. Now I'm still near the ocean (on the other side). So, I've always liked the seashore...and this song, funnily enough, makes me think of that... and 19th century seafarers.......... and whales....
