Some info from a newsletter I got:

Congratulations on being offered a place on the MSc Carbon Management from September 2010 at the Dumfries Campus of the University of Glasgow. Some news for you which is specific to the MSc:

- On consultation with current and past students, teaching staff, University of Glasgow staff, and more importantly, employers, we are changing the name of the MSc to MSc Applied Carbon Management. Employers have commented that it tells them that our graduates have practical and technical skills in the field of carbon management - which is exactly what they want!

(snip other details)

- Our current cohort is now on placement or writing dissertations. 83% of students chose a work placement this year: these range from working on offshore wind benefits versus offshore drilling (very topical since the student is with Oceana based in Florida) to working with the Scottish Government on climate change policy; from investigating the methane emissions of dairy cows with the Scottish Agricultural College to carbon calculator work evaluating the benefit (or problem) of placing wind turbines in forests with Forest Research, Forestry Commission Scotland.
