Linda email to my aunt (excerpts):
The funeral went so well - everyone commented on how lovely it was. I can't believe it is over and that we got through it. I think she would have enjoyed it. A good few people came to the tea afterwards and that helped.
I am incedibly calm - I truly believe that Dad and her are together and that helps.
The crematorium is like a nature reserve and there were swans and cygnets and ducklings and how that helped. She would have so loved it. The flowers were beautiful. The guy who did the service is a sweetheart and he gave me some Native American poems as he knows I am really into that. He also did a poem about how you can look back and be bitter and sad or do as she would want and use the past to look forward - that also was a help.
We got a really nice letter from the consultant from the hospital. Everyone is so very kind. This really restores your faith in human nature - people are inately good. I am sitting in the conservatory and the smell of lilies is amazing. I think my Mum is looking after us and making sure we are okay.
Both Darrin and Andy have been fantastic - they seem to know just to hold us and say little. They are wonderful men and we are so lucky and she knew that. It took me a while to find my soulmate but I got there!!! My Mum and Jenny were more lucky!
Tess is back with us which is great. I missed her.
