Natick Redmen

I think the non-binding public vote to ask the Natick town officials to reconsider their decision to change the Natick Redmen name (to something less offensive) passed. Not sure what's happening now, tho, as it was non-binding.

But I liked this quote I just read from the chairman of the school committee, Henry Haugland, about the potential offensiveness of the name Natick Redmen:

"Most people hadn't given that a lot of thought because we don't have a lot of Native Americans around here. Over the last 300 years we have managed to eliminate many of them."
