The news from Linda

Sometimes I put Linda's emails to people here, as sort of an update so I don't have to type it myself....

So sorry not to have been in touch for ages and ages.

It has been a busy time at school with exams and preparation for them. They are over now and, although still busy, not quite so bad.

Then a few weeks ago one of our cats, Nala, went missing. It was a Sunday and Darrin and I spent the day driving around trying to find her. Then I made posters and fliers and got them printed at school and Jenny, Andy, my friend Debbie and I spent Monday night going round everywhere we could think - putting up posters in school, shops, pubs, vets, etc, etc. I called Cats Protection, Pet Search - the lot. I was lying in bed at 3am that night when she miawed at me. We think someone had tried to keep her, even though she has a collar. Cats Protection said so too. Next day she came back without a collar, so now they have a curfew at teatime and they are in for the night.

We finally got planning permission through for the extension, and the work is due to start in less than 2 weeks, hopefully. I am so stressed as there is so much to do before it starts. I was really bad tempered yesterday and I think it is all this getting to me, plus the usual hormones!

Jenny is on teaching placement in Dumfries. She was really ill with sinusitis last week and had to see the doctor and stay off for a couple of days. She didn't want to but she had no choice. She has her crit from her tutor next Tuesday. Darrin isn't too well either - there are bugs going round.

Darrin is still in Glasgow - they are now saying he will finish at the end of June - he is fed up waiting. He still hasn't found a job - it will take time.

I have been doing a lot of riding to keep Meggie fit. Yesterday the other girl who rides her for me called to say she had a sore foot. We went up to see her and she is lame and is now having box rest so we have a stable to muck out now too! We are hoping it isn't laminitis which is bad for their feet and is caused by being too fat. We have worked hard to prevent that so it will be unair. Hopefully she has just bruised her foot.

We are just back from seeing Pirates of the Carribean - I love Johnny Depp so much and he is so funny as Jack Sparrow.

Going to make some late lunch (having just eaten so much popcorn!) so will sign off. Hope you are all well.
