Uber HoF song: Rocky Raccoon by the Beatles
White Album song… And not the first from that album to be inducted to my UBER list of favourite songs. Won't be the last.
It's one that I've always enjoyed singing along to. Pretty simple. I like songs like this that tell a little story. It's a bit mockish of folk music and country music, which I think is a bit funny.
Here's some wiki info:
McCartney began writing the song in Rishikesh, India, where the Beatles were studying Transcendental Meditation in the early months of 1968.
Lennon and Donovan, who joined the Beatles on their retreat, also made contributions to the song.
The Old West-style honky-tonk piano was played by producer George Martin.
It's the last Beatles song to feature John Lennon's harmonica playing.
