Wild Horses

Another song for my list ...  my Song Hall of Fame list...   "Wild Horses" by the Rolling Stones

I counted, and this is the 16th Rolling Stones song to make it onto the list.  Wow.  Pretty good for a group that I have never really connected to that much.  I mean, I like many Rolling Stones songs...  but I'm not crazy about them.  I obviously hold them in pretty high regard, tho...  Something holds me back from actually saying they are one of my favourite groups, tho.  In the top 25 or maybe 20, I forget.  They are punching above their weight here in my SHoF list.

Anyway, Wild Horses has made it...  from the great Sticky Fingers Album.  The song is special to me, in part, because of the connection I have in my life to horses... and specifically Meggie.   Aside from that, it's a beautiful, slow, melancholy song... which is a type I like...

From Wikipedia: Jagger states, "I remember we sat around originally doing this with Gram Parsons, and I think his version came out slightly before ours. Everyone always says this was written about Marianne but I don't think it was; that was all well over by then. But I was definitely very inside this piece emotionally."
