Top 60 music artists

Jul 18, 2020 12:19

I recently posted my top 50 music artists.... which is something I do every year or two... with a little bit of movement in the rankings here and there.

Beyond 50, it gets tougher and tougher to rank them... I used to have them ranked all the way to 100, but last year I just posted the 51-100 artists unranked in one group in no particular order.... and I've changed what I'm doing this year...

This year, I've decided to do groups of 10, unranked... so this is my 51-60 group in no particular order. My plan is to do this every year or two (it's been a year and a half since last time)... and perhaps I will make slight changes depending on various things.... so bands might get relegated to the lower division or get promoted... that sort of thing.

I base my rankings on lots of factors including: CD's in my collection, videos or DVD's I've had, books, concerts I've been to... and other things... but also songs that get inducted into my Song Hall of Fame as well as induction into my recording artist HoF (DRAHof)....

So it's a little hobby of mine. I like lists. This is what I do.

Anyway, here are the group for rank 51-60, in no particular order (except alphabetically by first name here.

Oh, there's one more thing. I used to have a separate list for early influence (non-rock) artists like Woody Guthrie, Hank Williams or Frank Sinatra.... but now I'm just going to include them all in the big list. I have a little points system on a speadsheet that helps me decide the groupings.

Anyway, enough explanation, here's the 51-60 group, followed by the number of songs in my Song HoF so far (which, again, is only part of the criteria to determine where they go in the overall scheme of things):

Alanis Morissette 3
Cat Stevens 3
Frank Sinatra 5
Green Day 4
Hank Williams 4
Moby 5
Nat King Cole 3
Rod Stewart 4
Stevie Wonder 3 (3 new songs in SHoF)
Woody Guthrie 5

song hall of fame, woody guthrie, nat king cole, rod stewart, lists, hank williams, drahof, stevie wonder, frank sinatra, green day, cat stevens, moby, alanis morissette
