*sighs wistfully* Goodness knows I complained about it when I lived in colder places, but I'm going into my second winter in a Marine west coast climate, and I do miss waking up to a blanket of white and the fat snowflakes falling.

I'll send you some anytime we've got it this winter. ::g:: I've never lived someplace where it doesn't snow, so I'd probably miss it, too (though, if the U of Hawaii decided it really needed someone with my expertise, I'm sure I could learn to endure). ::puts best noble look on face::

Last year was my first without snow, as there's only about a single 60-square-mile area in Canada where one can hope for a green (or rather, grey) winter. I'm not saying I miss -40, but it certainly looks pretty out your way.

Oh, such gorgeous pictures! And I love snow - full stop. It was cold and wet here, but no snow yet.

Mr. L says to tell you 'Thanks!'. :-) Funny thing, I'm much more appreciative of the white stuff if I don't have to do anything with (or in) it but play. ::g::

Heh. Well, I don't have to go anywhere/do anything except play in it, so this could explain a lot. ;D

God, these are gorgeous pictures. I do hope Mr L is a professional photographer, because if he's not, he's wasting his talent. The oak and crab apple are works of art.

We had some snow (gone now) this morning, too. Personally, I hate the stuff, despite how nice it sometimes looks.

Mr. L is blushing at your praise! ::g:: Sadly, no, he's only a dedicated (and very talented) amateur, though I'm of the opinion that he could go pro. He's made some breathtaking images. But alas, the poor guy is a scientist, too. And the both of us are the children of engineers - Miss M shows some dangerous bent in those directions, as well. I keep hoping she'll end up an artist or chef or (Circe strike me dead for saying this) a lawyer - since that seems to be the only profession which will never be outsourced (and she's *so* good at arguing ::g::).

I hate the stuff, despite how nice it sometimes looks. I will confess that the older I get, the less fond of it I am. Its not near so much fun as it was when I was Miss M's age!

I agree with kellychambliss, Mr. L. could turn professional. Being a scientist doesn't have to stop him. My own Lord Snowdon spent his working life among computer and IT consultants, and now that he's sold his company he retrains as a photographer. If an IT nerd can do it, a scientist can.

And that pic with the crab apples could make a marvellous Christmas card - saves you buying them. Photoprints are cheaper - I know, we just selected ours from Lord S's work.

I keep telling Mr. L that he should put up a web site/virtual gallery, but he's too modest to do so. Photography is what he does to relax, and he's as big a nerd as I am about the science, so I don't see him giving that up (though I don't see why he couldn't sell his photos on the web :-) ).

I'd *love* to see some of Lord Snowdon's work - does he have a web site? If not, you should post a pic or two. ::g::

that pic with the crab apples could make a marvellous Christmas card I agree! Something from Mr. L's work is our Christmas card most years, so I should tell him to get his tush in gear and pic something, so he has time to get the printing done (he's a control freak, so he does it himself).

It was great when Miss M was little - I had an excuse to stay home and play instead. But she's off to play with friends when the snow flies (as she should be), and now it's more of an uncomfortable nuisance. :-(
