mah, what day are we?

Aug 28, 2010 00:42

As I always say, Time knows how to fly, fast. Before I realized, one of the best school year ever have finished. Another short blink, 2 months of summer vacation is over too. Over all it had been quite satisfyng, despite countless unachieved goal but the jobs were done quite spectacularly and the experiences have been beyond amazing. Anyway, I have had a good rest, despite all the busyness.

School'll starts next Monday and oh crap I didn't buy anything yet. Gotta cut my hair this weekend too, guh.

Anyway anyway anyway, since I finally have 2 void days, why not post something. The thing that enthralled me the most this summer is, without a doubt and nay concurrence, the release of Arashi newest original album:

TADAAA!!!!! ARASHI, being dork! Hail the holy  power that is "Boku no Miteiru Fuukei" (oh god long l( ) and I hate the cover

This album is easily the best album have been produced by Arashi, it's their effort for more than one year after all. Every single song fulfills the expectation. The whole album listened in one go is very good, a different and more mature sound but still typically Arashi that is truly refreshing. In my point of view, it gives more an impression of being true artists rather than the usual cheery idol-feel.Which I fully approve of. The mature feel, "change without changing". The whole thing is perfectly balanced, between fast and slow tempo and cheerful and bittersweet and oh so melodic and lyrics are more than excellants! I hope they get a million with this new album, which would be very well deserved.
So now, onto the songs!

1. Movin' On : catchy, strong-type of song, befitting for the opening. Love the bridge. And goosh, sakurap, it've been such a long time! I hope the performance during concert is better than on tv show

2. Mada Ue mo: *swoon* thank you they finally did this kind of song! my second favortie after Refrain, it's a shame they didn't perform it at Kokuritsu, I was so hopeful of it. *swoon some more*. So goooooooood!!!! and the instrumental! and the rap! Decidingly, J-pop has execellent bridge in it's song *swwoonn*

3. Refrain: HOLY. HOLY. HOLY. the first time I heard this song on Youtube I was like "YES YES YES THIS THIS THIS THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!". PERFECTION! IT IS JUST SOOO PERFECT FOR WORDS. Straight to my all time favorites. Everybody's solo lines. Jun-Nino collaboration. Nino and Ohno at the end, gosh! And the live!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OH GOD TOO MUCH GREATNESS!!! PURRREFEEEECCCCCT !

4. Troublemaker: 100% Arashi's song that I grow really fond of with time. Love love the lyrics and the cheerful bit. No wonder everybody loves it. And the performance, need I say more? Member-ai and Ohmiya overflooding. Every time I listen to it, "There's no such thing as perfection" I just want to scream: "DID YOU SEE THAT? YOU SEE THAT?! PAWN YOU K-POP!"

5. T.A.B.O.O - Sho-kun's solo: HEHEHE...he. Hmm, may I say I appreciated this song very very much mainly because what it might makes Sho do during live, hehe. Indeed, it did raise the level quite high. Nice song, nice beat, nice English (yes english, not engrish). Great solo, his best to date YOU ROCKS SHO!!! "Call my nameless name now", damn!

6. Circus: earlier in an interview, Ohno said it's a new mysterious feel that Arashi is trying out. It didn't help either that I expected it to be somewhat like Britney Spear's Circus, which is excellent. It turns out really great, I'm glad. YAY! they'll do it live in concert! Cool song

7. Gift: yay! ballado. I love most of Johnny's ballads anyway. It doesn't really stand out among Arashi's many ballads but still, it still very good. And for once it wasn't about love. The end was quite a good punch, when they sing all together after Riida's solo
.

8. Everything: love this song to bit. Fall even harder after the Kokuritsu performance last year. Did I said my friend Isabelle like this song? She loves the live and sang the conclusion "Hashire, hashire..." part with wrong lyric out loud several times, so hehe, good sign here. I shall make her sink deeper in our fandom, friends. Everybody's solo lines are awesome, the bridge is awesome, the ending is even awesomer! Love everything about Everything!
                          ok lame pun

9. Come back to me - Matsujun's solo: well...well...well...it's Yabaix3 all over again. Matsujun's has been way too happy recently. Which remind me that tomorrow is his birthday, too! Omedettou! I'll make a proper post later. Not bad of a song. Seriously funny how they autotuned his voice cos among j-pop group, the bad singer tend to got their voices digitally modified.

Jun has been improving a lot ever since 2008, you don't rely on him to know if the group sing live or not anymore but Nino yes, cos he gets so good now! Ten years have finally paid off. Overall, all 5 have improved so much vocally that there are not much difference between live record anymore.

10. My girl: hmm...normal? No big impression. Nice melody. Nice voice harmonization. That's...all

11. Magical song - Aiba-chan's solo: alright...WHAT THE HELL IS THIS SONG????????

I knew it will be hippie just by looking at the title. One word: BAKA DA YO!! But then, IT'S AIBA. The sunshine the special snowflake the miracle the mirror man. As long as it's Aiba it's fine. Because it's Aiba that disco and eurobeat and engrish and "Yeah!" that sounds like hyena work beautifully! Gosh just by imagining you can alrady see how adorable he'll be performing this. So so very very Aiba.

If anyone except Aiba perform this song, I swear I'll scream for bloody murder.
Nobody but Aiba can work this...mess of a track without  looking like an on-high drug addict.

Although I do want to see Bakanishi do it just to strip him of all his arrogance. *still bitter*

12. let me down: very nice song, flowing beat. Me like it. Oh they performed it live, cool!

13. Monster: oh love love love *swooon* Fell damn hard like with Truth before a while ago. I mean, IT's SOUND LIKE ADAM's FAMILY!!!! HOW AWESOME IS THAT????! well, I should shut up or else I'll ramble for the rest of the night, bad idea. Lets me just say that the instrumental track is pure genius. (Truth all over again)

 -----------MONSTEEEEEEERRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!

ok lame

14. Don't stop: catchy! more typical Arashi song

15. Shizuka na yoru ni - Riida's solo: ok, one second *swooooooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnn*
I know I know it's Oh-chan so the deadly vocal power should be expect, but still *swoooooooooooon*
Sorry ne, Mada ue mo, this solo just detroned you from the second place. IT.IS.JUST.SO.AMAZING. like REALLY AMAZING. I'm in awe. He just has to wow us everytime, isn't he?
Oh me god the bridge. The live performance might kill me due to too much INCREDIBLE-ness.

16. Mukae ni iku yo: hmm...good, definitely good, but...well, it'S strange but I don't have much to say about this one

17. 1992*4##111 - Nino's solo: I really didn't expect this tempo coming from him. But after that I read the translation, I can't help but smile everytime I listen to the song. Cute Nino, he is so in love. It's just so adorable. Such a romanticist. I'm glad that he's happy!

18. Sora takaku: Arashi-poi
!

19. kagero: the background instrumental is a tad annoying, but still, good song. The beginning is nice.

20. Summer splash: yah, I want to see the making of this song, when all five of them recording this together. must be so fun
!

I'm so sleepy right now, guh. Don't remember anything else to say. Will edit tomorrow

Oh wait. Mannequin 5 SP. The result was quite a huge surprise. Poor Jun. Such irony, ha

i think i don't use enough onions

ohno satoshi, ninomiya kazunari, life's good! as in good!!!, ramble/ranting/blah x3, sakurai sho, aiba masaki, 8th wonder of the world arashi
