Dima is warped!
As long as I've known him he has believed that the number one reason a person gets sick with a cold is that they let their neck get cold.
Number one. Above, say, viruses.
If you chill your neck you are probably going to be ill. Oh, and if you have a stiff neck you are getting a cold. You never sat in front of a computer too long or slept funny, no, you are obviously getting a cold.
Well, I have learnt something new though. Apparently your neck can be chilled even in 80 degree weather. That breeze I find so pleasant and actually necessary? "Oh no!!!!! A chill!" That cieling fan that singlehandly kept our flat just within the comfort level all week? "NOOOOOO, Must Be Turned Off because it is making my neck cold!"
Seriously, he keeps turning the damned thing off, and soon I feel hot. I go to investigate, and sure enough he has turned it off. hmmm. Maybe it has an effect on the comfort level in here???
I just finished telling him the reasons it needs to be left on, and I think it still is, but wtf. I told him to wrap something around his neck then, but that I need to be able to work on stuff today and it is not as easy when I'm sweltering.
We have an AC, but haven't used it in a couple years. Since moving here we have a flat with enough airflow, and I have toughed out the worst days of summer. One major reason for this is that lovely ceiling fan. Another is that we are on the corner of the building and the corner of a block. We catch every breeze, thankfully. The fan is a huge part though.
So, I guess he'd prefer I shut all the windows tight and turn on the AC then? What a waste. I will not.
How does one reason with him on this? I swear. I had to call mum to complain about it, and she pointed out that she can very well picture Dima's mother warping him on this neck issue. There is no reasoning with him about it, and I too can just picture his mother drilling the belief into his head. gah.

I AM PISSED OFF. I just came home from two hours of errands to find he turned the damn fan off again. It is now much hotter inside than outside. (I had just been thinking to myself as I walked in that is was so nice that the temp had already cooled off outside.)
A big discussion just occured, because before I left I explained the reasons to leave it on and he agreed to. Then he ignored that.
I hate heat. It makes everything I feel triple, when I am tired or aching. Technically cold does too, but moderate temps are so wonderful.
