Sherlock tightly grips the gurney and is easily able to keep up with the speed of the paramedics and nurses as they rush through the hospital corridors.
He has not let go once since they put John on it and Sherlock has no intention of doing so.

The burly nurse waiting in front of the doors leading to the operating theatre has another intention.

"You can't go in there!" she exclaims, holding her hands up but Sherlock only glares at her, his hand still in contact with John's body.
"Sir, we have to operate and you can not walk through these doors!"

Sherlock does not react, but then one of the paramedics - the one who always told Sherlock what he was doing, puts a hand on his shoulder.
"Yo, mate, I know you want to stay with your partner, but you can't go in with him. Wait here and we will take care of him, I promise you."

Sherlock swirls around, almost snarling at him, but then he sees the expression in the man's eyes.
It is an expression that he has seen in John's eyes and he knows that he can trust this man.

Slowly and painfully Sherlock unclaps the gurney and the paramedic nods one, before they move forward and leave Sherlock behind.

Sherlock loos at John as long as possible, until the doors to the operating theatre close and he can no longer see him.
Then he looks up at the waiting nurse, whose expression is no longer hostile, but now compassionate.

"He is your partner?" she asks lowly and Sherlock knows exactly what she means, but he does not care.
Now as the adrenaline is fading he can feel how he grows extremely tired.

So his answer is simple. "Yes."
