I don't know about counting toward the promt, but I like it. Something much more primal there than object being pawned, and I did recognize that was what was going on. So, kudus, this was very enjoyable!

I too recognised what was happening but I admit the narrator being an alley-cat was a bit of a surprise. (A good surprise!)
I am interested to see how this works out!

The cat was the first idea I got for this immediatly, then I just had to build around it.

Originally I thought about making John & Sherlock visit a tarot reading and the cat would have been "the black cat of the witch". XD

Humm. You caught me with the cat bit. I was willing to go with the personal narrative style, even with the Graces and sun and moon, but I did not expect the cat. It worked well!

You wrote it nicely, even in the cats PoV I could see what was happening, and tell who was involved. Makes me wonder what John pawned though, and why.
