Sherlock - aSiB
Not going to give many spoilers, but still be warned!
Do not wanna say much about it, as I am quite unsure what I am really thinking about the episode.
On one side I was totally giddy the whole time, awing and squealing almost the whole episode over.
On the other side - I am a tiny bit disappointed with it, like many others.
Generally I thought the episode was great, with a great story and a great modern adaption of Irene Adler. It was quite fitting.
But then it was not really Sherlock Holmes.
I can not exactly say what bothers me, but something was just off about Sherlock's behaviour. Irene I think was a great character, even though she was completely different from her original version, but then I still thought that her character was along the lines of the idea of a modern SH.
But there was just too much sexual going on between Sherlock and Irene. Sherlock was shown as the poor virgin boy who falls hopelessly for the older and beautiful woman.
This aspect changed somewhere along the episode - their first meeting was still cool, but then there was a shift and it stopped being Good (I think it was when Sherlock was sad about her apparent death).
In the end I can only hope that it stays true to the original works - that Irene Adler only appear once. I really do not wish for her return...
Personally I try to see it like this - the reason for Sherlock's weird behaviour was his way to play Irene's game to only be able to beat her in the end in her own game. His behaviour was just for show. That's the only explanation I am willing to accept for this ... weird ... episode....
But on the bright side, there were some awesome moments in the episode. I only say BUCKINGHAM PALACE. :)
And I AM SHERLOCKED!!!!!!!
I can't await tomorrow's HOUND, I really really hope it's going to turn out great as it is one of my favourite stories! SQUEEEEEE!!!!!! :D
