Random updates
Went to one of Brian's co-worker's house for dinner last night. Had a really enjoyable time. They're very smart women who have had interesting lives. Forgive me for being cynical...I don't know if that's the word I'm looking for...but I'm curious what their angle is. They have plenty of friends, so they didn't invite us over because they need friends. And Diane didn't press the point that Brian should be BFF with her son. I wonder if it's because they think Brian needs a friend? Or I guess it could be because she likes Brian and wants to be friends with him, I suppose. Imagine that. Someone wanting to be friends with Brian. Lol.
Week 1 of dog-sitting is over. One more week to go. Sometimes she's wonderful. She has to sit next to me, so I set up my study area on the couch instead of at my recliner. But once we're settled, she just lays there and falls asleep for most of the morning/early afternoon. In the evenings, however, she undergoes a transformation. All the energy she's been storing up all day comes out and she attacks Brian. Her male owner plays rough, so she assumes Brian wants to play rough with her. She won't let us watch TV in the evening; she demands we pay attention to her. One problem is I can't tell if she's barking because she has to go out or to get our attention. She got sick this weekend. I think she ingested a foam scrapbooking flower. She spit up a little bit (mostly water) and the flower was in the mess. But she got doggy diarrhea and I'm not sure why. Stress? She seems to be doing better today, so hopefully whatever it was has passed.
