There are a lot of things I like about stage managing a theatrical production - helping to keep things structured and make things work are natural behaviors for me, and so getting to indulge in them feels "right". What I DON'T like, however, is having to be the Bad Guy, the guy whose job it is to scowl and yell when people get out of line.
Currently I'm working on a show with a cast of 40+ people, more than 30 of whom are kids, and during the first weekend of the show they were great. The last two nights, though, their behavior backstage has gotten worse and worse until it was just appalling, and that meant it was time for me to remind them rather forcefully of how they're SUPPOSED to behave. Basically I had to do some acting of my own - I had to be Mean Mr. Nick the Pissed-Off Stage Manager - and it completely drained me emotionally, and now I just feel like shit. I just really wish I didn't have to do that sort of thing. -_-
