Sometimes the ability to go numb can be really useful. -_- I just had to get my cat out of the road after she'd been run over. My mom found her on her way back from rehearsal and was nearly hysterical once she got inside.
I dunno, I suppose I should have felt something then, but all I felt was that I was going to have to get her out of the road and that I was going to have to expect the mess that I'd find. Even now that it's done, I don't feel anything.
Should I try and force myself to be sad? Or is it just enough to be in the dark in the rain with what's left of your pet? Grar.
