Just thought I'd point this out, as I've tried it and enjoyed it - www.super-robot-wars.com. It's a game called Super Robot Wars Online, although it actually plays out a lot more like some of the various 'kingdom vs. kingdom' games some of us used to to play quite a bit of a while back. Basically, you have a 'city', which you build and defend, but instead of an army you get a robot that you train and upgrade. In terms of the 'city-builder' aspect, it's pretty simplistic compared to some of the games we've played in the past, but some of the SRW elements that have been added in help to flesh out the game - each robot (and there's a pretty wide selection) has varying stats, and between two and four weapons, all with varying degrees of power, accuracy, probably to critical, and general useability. Each robot also has its own 'Skill' list (aka Seishens - basically, spells you cast in combat). You can produce items to use in combats, hire 'pilots' temporarily to boost your robot's abilities, and your city serves as a home base for your robot to recover and refuel, and produces money for upgrades. Winning seems to largely be a combination of finding a successful 'style' with the robot you've chosen, balancing turn use between attacks, building, recovering/money-building, and upgrading, and finally choosing targets carefully. It's been pretty fun so far - I've only been 'farmed' by one guy and he seems to have stopped, and I've got a pretty nice win/loss record. For information's sake, I'm 'Alaster', city 'Boardville', using an Alt Eisen.

Oh, yeah, and the game is in French, so scroll down the front page to find the link to the English-language version. ^_~
