LOTR new release

Looking at the info at Amazon it appears that some of the stuff we saw on the blooper reel is included. It doesn't appear to have a release date in Australia so I'll be getting the region 1 discs - and I'm splashing out on "priority international courier" so I can get them before I go away.

I've done the same thing just because I'm impatient and not willing to wait until they're released down here.

I know. Sometimes it's really difficult to know if/when something's going to be released here, and if it's going to have the same extra features. I generally check HMV and EzyDVD, and if neither of them have it listed and I don't want to wait I'll get the region 1 disc.

Someone might - probably won't be me though. It's a pity they couldn't release the documentary footage separately, but the blurb at Amazon mentions contract difficulties, which I imagine means that the contracts specified that people would get X dollars or X percent for each DVD copy of the films, regardless of whatever extra material was provided, but that no one negotiated any payment for extra material being released if it wasn't included with a film.

Well, there are nearly two weeks to go - I'll keep my fingers crossed that you'll be employed by the time the discs are released.
