Charlie-Rory future-verse
I'm probably not going to finish the third section of TTT (Ripples) which would fill in the gaps between 2004 and the third novel. I suspect I'll never write the third novel either (Sins, Shadows and Salvation), even though it was the original sequel I planned before getting diverted by the prompt table and TTT. Instead I'll give you a rough outline of what the future holds for Charlie and Rory and the extended family.
Nov 2004 - the Civil Partnerships Bill is passed and is granted Royal Assent, to come into force in Dec 2005. Rory proposes to Charlie.
Mar 2005 - Ken dies in a pub brawl.
May 2005 - Charlie releases a solo album. He goes on to have a moderately successful, though low-key, career as a singer-songwriter.
June 2005 - Biddy finishes her degree and enrols in a two-year master's course in interpreting and translation.
July 2005 - Theresa marries Luke.
October 2005 - Rory buys out his father's interest in the cleaning business.
February 2006 - Charlie and Rory have their civil union ceremony.
July 2006 - Their application for adoption is not approved; Charlie doesn't cope well. Theresa has her first child shortly thereafter.
January 2007 - Rory's father dies, leaving him as sole heir (in spite of the fact that he had told Rory he had been disinherited); Rory has to commute to Glasgow frequently to look after business.
June 2007 - Biddy finishes her course in interpreting and translation and moves to Germany to work. She ends up in Switzerland, working for the World Health Organisation.
Summer 2007 - Charlie and Rory move to Strathblane.
December 2008 - Rory builds Charlie a small recording studio for his 30th birthday.
September 2009 - Kevin starts an IT diploma/apprenticeship course
December 2010 - Mike has a stroke. He makes a partial recovery but isn't able to return to work.
February 2011 - Liam and Karen separate and eventually get divorced. The three children remain with Karen.
June 2012 - Kevin finished his diploma, starts work with a software company.
March 2013 - Theresa's husband dies, leaving her with four small children. She moves back to Manchester.
October 2013 - Liam marries his second wife, Tegan; they will have two children.
June 2015 - Theresa is killed in a car accident. After some discussion, both families agree that the children will be brought up by Charlie and Rory. The children move to Scotland.
February 2016 - Bunny (Theresa's youngest child) is kidnapped. Rory works out who is behind it and manages to find her.
April 2017 - Mike dies, age 71.
September 2021 - Bridget (no longer called Biddy) is elected a Member of European Parliament.
October 2025 - Kevin marries Seeta Bannerjee.
March 2028 - Kevin's first child, Colin, is born. Meg dies a fortnight later, age 76.
2037 - Death of Rory and Charlie.
