B2MeM Day Ten

Challenge: Start a story or poem with Charles Dickens' famous opening line from A Tale of Two Cities: "It was the best of times, it was the worst of times." (If you're creating a piece of artwork for this challenge, use this line as your theme or title.)

This was quick. Then again, this one is a sketchy sketch too. Seems like I can't take my time with Galadriel as I do with Aredhel.

I had many ideas for this theme. In the end I settled for this one since I wanted to do something like this for the 5th Birthday celebration but didn't have the time.

Galadriel returns to Valinor at the end of the Third Age. It's something she's been waiting for for a long time, she'll get to see her family again, and her daughter. On the other hand, she's leaving behind a husband and a land she's lived in for three ages.
The theme also applies to the Elrond and Frodo: Elrond will reunite with his wife but he'll never see his daughter again; Frodo is leaving behind the Shire but he's heading for healing.
