So somehow my muse revived and started building this new world. It was really fun, so when Sally and
cyanwitch needed some motivation, I offered to write them drabbles from said new world.
Then the characters decided that two drabbles wasn't enough, and they continued on, leaving me behind to try and catch up. :P
So, here's what I've got so far. There will hopefully be more in the future. =D
Title: Packing
Fandom: Original (Not named yet)
Characters: Lein and Jennile
Rating: G
"Lein, you are not leaving without me."
"Jen, you-"
Jennile put her fingertips over my mouth, effectively stopping my words. "Hush. I'm going with you. So stop arguing, and let's get going."
She moved away and begin to pack together things for the journey ahead. We were headed Below.
Many people believed that nothing existed below the Cloud Barrier, but then, not many had tried to pass the Barrier. It was a thick bank of clouds, and all who had tried to pass through it had retreated back to the Isles - at least in recent history.
It was likely we would never return, but there was no doubt that there was a land Below.
After all, the letter had to come from somewhere.
Title: Falling
Characters: Lein
Rating: G
I have stood at the edge of Falseth before. It is a terrifying experience to stand at the edge of everything you know and look out at the unknown.
Today is different. Today I stand at the edge of Falseth, pack tired around my chest, my wings open, the Cloud Barrier below my feet. It is both terrifying and exhilarating.
I stand with my arms out, my toes curling around the edge of the land and push.
I wing out away from the island, the Cloud Barrier nearing as my pack weighs me down. Sooner than I expected, white fills my vision, utterly blinding me.
I keep flying, beating my wings.
Title: Below
Characters: Lein and Jennile
Rating: G
White.
Everything is white, all around me.
I'm not sure how long it has been since I pushed off the edge of Falseth, but I'm starting to wonder how far down the Below really is. The only thing I'm aware of besides myself and the white clouds all around is the sound of Jennile flapping above and behind me.
I've lost all sense of time, but now I can feel something changing. The clouds are getting lighter, thinner, and I can only assume that we've finally passed through the Cloud Barrier.
Nothing could have prepared me for this.
Everything below us is in shadow, but I can see the outline of where the Cloud Barrier actually ends, like people from the out-most Blessed Isles tell of. Outside of that, everything is lit with the mid-afternoon sun, and there are lines in the land below that glimmer like crystals or bowls of water. And there is so much land! It extends in every direction for as far as the eye can see, and it is so green! I'm overwhelmed by it all, but the surprise and awe make me unaware of how tired my wings are getting.
"Blessed Spirits," I whisper, taking in as much of this new sight as I can.
There is more in the works, and I spent an hour or so this morning half-dreaming about the world, but I don't feel like trying to chase after Lein and Jennile and Karsed just yet, so I'll save it until later. But I hope you guys like!
