Summer is short and as such it's almost over
I do love me some pretty things. :D
Lately I've spent some outrageous sums on myself and pretty things for my apartment. Usually pretty much all my money goes into food and books, but lately I haven't had much interest in either, so I've concentrated on surrounding myself with aesthetically pleasing things instead. :D
I might have got myself some new yarn... (luscious Aracaunia Ranco cotton and oh so sweet! Malabrigo! merino wool)
As well as something new for my kitchen and kitchen table ...
(you probably can't imagine what finds some of those jars were, as well as the Marimekko canvas, I'm still having a hard time believing my luck!)
And last but definitely not least....
The very first vase that I bought myself (funny that!).
It's just missing an outrageous and decadent bouquet of bright pink peonies (something that's a bit too much for my otherwise very white and modern decoration style). So far I haven't found quite the shade I want, as my favorite place for peonies was sold along with my father's old house (see the peonies in my avatar). I saw this vase last month at the local up-scale department store and couldn't really justify the expense; but then my first-ever paid vacation week arrived and I woke up one day and thought: "Today is the perfect day to stay in bed and drink champagne!" (not that I have any... :P), and then I realized that I just HAD to get this vase and no other. And now it's mine!
(Why else do we work if not to get money to buy ourselves things? :D)
I'll get you an update on the man-front soonish, when I've had my thoughts sorted out a bit. Sorry to keep you waiting, enjoy the pretty things! :D
