ADIML: Cupcakes, Symphonies, Picnics..ahhh Bliss

Apr 10, 2008 22:16

Last weekend, I hosted Andrea from the UK. She been living in Poland and US mostly so she doesnt have that thick brit accent which made my mom sighed in relief!! Anyway, she is easy to host and quiet at time but we did get to hang out for abit. Last Sunday, there was a Singapo Symphony Orchestra (SSO) performance at the Botanical Garden. So I made some cupcakes, dragged a few friends and had a picnic. It was a relaxing fun Sunday spend with great friends.

Oh, I also x-posted this on ADIML :)

I usually sleep in on Sunday

Don't really feel like getting up, so I laze in bed for little bit

I finally got off the bed and wash up

Had breakfast - some leftover from last night dinner with a piece of bread

Then I tackle the overflowing laundry

It looks nice outside, been raining lots lately here in Singapore

This is Andrea, a fellow Couchsufer from UK whom I was hosting over the weekend

While Andrea check her emails, I skim through my April copy of Self which I just got from the post

The laundry was done so I hang it out to dry

Off to the shops, which is just a 5-mins walk away, with Mom

Mom getting some grocery items. Thats a 25kg sack of flour btw in our basket

I then get down to business and start to make my cupcakes

25mins later ...and voila!

Andrea and me sat down for a nice Mee Soto lunch

By the time we finish lunch, the cupcakes are ready to be iced. But I didnt have any piping bag so have to make another trip to the store. It was raining so brought out my green/blue checkered brolly :)

Got my piping bag and start to ice my cupcakes

All done... chocolate and vanilla cupcakes

A quick run into the shower and I'm all set to go out

Waiting for the bus. Am so glad the rain has long since stop, so we could have our picnic at the park

Chyka joined us on the bus ride. We both happen to wear green. We later found out that another friend of ours, Mariana wore green tee as well!

We got to our destination

Its a beautiful day indeed

Park is huge, so we have to walk for abit to get to the Symphony Stage where the Singapore Symphony Orchestra performance is taking place

Passed by some pretty blooms

We also passed by a wedding photo shoot.

Got to the picnic ground and search for a good spot. But because we arrived late, we were kinda far from the stage.

Mariana arrived wearing green as well!!

The performance was about to start, so we settled down on my pink blanket.

Enjoying my cuppies

Place was swamped with people

I then ventured to the front and got a closer look at the stage

Jai meddling with Chyka's camera

Time to pack-up and head for dinner. Instead of helping me, they decide to just stand and watch me fold the blanket. Thanks guys!

Walked to the nearby mall and had pasta and pizza for dinner

After dinner, we headed into the city for some drinks. I love my Hoegaarden while Mariana sure is enjoying her Victory Bitter.  We left the pub at around 10pm as most of us have to work early the next day.

Got home and got carried away with my emails.

Watch some football on the telly

Some bedtime reading before bed.

All konked out by 1.15am

picnic, baking, couchsurfing, adiml, friends, cupcake
