It's safe to say that it's been more than a while since I've done any live journal stuff. I'll just say there isn't any excuse for that and move on..
We went to the convention the weekend before last. That was fun, the beach too. They did talk about on-line chat rooms and talking to strangers. So Luke decided that world of warcraft was out. That made me kinda sad.. Still I respect that it is playing with a bunch of strangers. I'm glad I know everyone on my LJ. ^_^
I got sandals on the beach. I haven't had a good pair of sandals for years. They just don't make serviceable, non-toe thong, waterproof sandals for girls. I don't get it. It's like the bathing suits that would fall off if you toughed water. Why do people buy those? Anyway, these are boys sandals. Don't tell anyone..
I was glad to have them last weekend when Luke and I went to the Celtic festival with Sam and Sarah. (I hope that's the way she spells her name because I've seen Sara and Sarai.. ah well I doubt she'll hate me. It's not like I forgot her name. Hee) It wasn't hot mind you. It was a cold rainy day, with lots of mud and puddles. But I'd altogether rather walk through cold mud puddles in almost bare feet, then have wet socks.
Wet socks.. Eeh!
It was a lot of fun, aside form being cold and wet. I was glad to know Sam and Sarah better, they're such fun girls. I dare say I could stand to be a little bit more like them.. (Wouldn't mind seeing more of them either.)
Anyway the funnel cake was a total bust, but we found some of Luke's (and my) favorite strawberry shortcake. Which isn't made of shortcake at all, but a kind of cinnamon sweet bread. Since it was raining so hard we got mom an umbrella for a souvenir. Wasn't that thoughtful? Well we were on a budget.. Turns out she loved it. I guess she wanted one she cold fold up small. She thought the little thistles were adorable too. For some reason Sam ended up switching with Luke while we were there.. ^_~ My souvenir was a lovely pewter pendent, which Sarah bought for me when she saw how I admired them! I was so tickled I gave her a big hug. (And I'm not a huggy person really)
The other thing that happened was we all met a professional seamstress. She was wearing the most beautiful coat, she called it a trench-cloak which was fitting I think. And guess what? Luke asked her about making me one! In black and green, how 'me' can you get? He might make her a website in place of some of the labor too. I think Sam wants one as well.
I wonder if we'll go to the bigger festival in September. If we do Sketch you simply must come with us. (And Mom and Razz to if they can.)
Well look at that. I actually had something to say. ^_^
