We spent a lazy morning in camp this morning. We checked email, offloaded our camera and played ping pong while our computer installed updates. Once we got moving, we drove to the park and walked up Day Mountain. We chose to go up one of the carriage roads because they are wide enough to walk holding hands and they aren't very steep. It took us a bit over an hour up and 45 minutes down. We ate a picnic lunch and drove to Bar Harbor. The first thing we did was buy tickets for the sunset trip on the Margaret Todd. Then we proceeded to kill time until it was time to get on the boat. We sat by the water, played cribbage on the village green and ate an early dinner. Ron had stuffed a shrimp stuffed haddock and i had lobster bisque then we split a piece of chocolate coconut cheese cake.
The Margaret Todd is a 151' four masted boat. We went out for a sail around the harbor at sunset. There was very little wind so it was not as fast as Ron or the crew would have liked, but it was very pretty. The question that was being asked as an introduction seemed to be "and what do you teach?" We were sitting with a retired couple, one had been a special ed teacher and the other a principal. Then there was also a very friendly math teacher from Minnesota. After another beautiful sunset, we went for some blueberry ice cream before coming home to sleep.
