Today was almost a terrible day
Well, first, it's 106 degreees outside which makes for a bad day in general.
Then, I went to turn in an application for a research scholarship, and I didn't know they needed a recommendation letter, so I had to panic and try to get ahold of my thesis supervisor and get a letter from him. He was teaching a class and I had to go to work, so I left a note under his door and left the rest to fate.
Then I walked my ass over to work. It's freakin hot!
Then I checked my messages and it was the college of liberal arts telling me I can't get my GPA high enough in linguistics to graduate with honors. So, I took off work and ran over to see a counselor. If I retake a really boring class I made a D in so I can get honors. And, I have to retake it in the spring with the asshole professor I first took it with because liberal arts waited too long to tell me this and it's too late to take it this semester with the other professor. =( Oh well, it's stuff I need to know better anyway, and since I've already taken it once, I can probably make an A. =) And, I had space for an extra class in the Spring to make myself full-time, so it works.
So after I talked to her I realized my thesis supervisor's class had just let out, so I ran over to his office to see if he might have gone there after, and he did! He was writing that recommendation for me, so I got it and I got it turned in so I have a complete application for that research scholarship (so hopefully I can travel to Ireland!).
That was my day that could have gone really badly, but ended up being ok (besides the having to run around in 100+ degree heat!). Oh yeah, and a bum mumbled "big juggers" as I walked past him to take out the office's trash. Bums need to find a new place to hang out besides around where I live, work, and go to school.
