Nope, not a contest from me today (though I should probably do another one soon). This is a contest from Ilona Andrews to promote her new On the Edge, a series starter paranormal romance. Some of my LJ friends put up poems or short stories that they're still working on, under lock. Sometimes they are actively seeking input or help with a particular problem, sometimes they're just sharing it at that stage. Of the things I've then seen published, some have changed a lot and some just a little.

Among people you've come to know, even if only electronically, it seems like just sharing work with friends. I guess sartorias has done it too--put some things up in draft form and then polished them for publication.

I sometimes put stuff up, but I'm considering it more or less done when I do.
