God, I suck at this game. >;

I love love LOVE SC2. If, y'know, you hadn't noticed by the layout and the icons and the obsessive love.

However, I suck at the fighting system.

This was trebly-emphasized when I downloaded the UQM version (which I can play on the Mac in my room, unlike the nice DOS version with the sell-more-landers-than-you-have bug YAY) and started playing with the Super Melee. I set the teams as "Old Hierarchy" for the computer and "New Alliance" for me.

I ended with four ships. Out of fourteen.

"Hey, not bad!" you say; "Those bad guys can be tough!"

Well, yeah-- but "those bad guys" only had seven ships to start off with. For every one of their ships I kill, they take down one and a half of mine.

"Well, you're playing against a computer; it's bound to have better reflexes than you."

It was set to "Weak Cyborg", the easiest setting.

"Uhh... well, you DID win, right?"

Yeah-- but the ships I was best with were ones you don't get until late in the storyline-- the Utwig, Thraddash, and Druuge ships. (Actually, you get the Druuge ships by selling your crew into slavery. >.> ) And even so, they weren't THAT great, they just have good range (and the Thraddash have a neat secondary attack).

*Sigh*

D'ya know why I was messing about in Melee? I was trying to see if there was any conceivable way for my flagship, Earth cruiser, and Spathi evader to fight my way back out of Ur-Quan space after allying with the ZFP. It looks like... not. -_- *Restarts*

annoyance, gaming
