RL update and two drabbles
Right a quick update about my trip to Prague so far. The flight was okay apart from they made us wait ages cos they couldn't find our pre-booked tickets on their system, bakas! Twas okay though cos we got fast tracked through afterwards thanks to Adrian's Gold card. We also all got into the Buisness Lounge and ate all their food XD The flight itself was fine until the landing, then my ears popped so bad my whole face hurt like crazy. Not a nice experience :/
Yesterday we got up late and had lunch out at our fav. local pub/retaurant nicknamed The Umbrellas cos the Czech name is difficult to remember and they have umbrellas out in the summer time >.> Ate nice food and then went into the centre and did some window shopping, ear-marking clothes we wanted when the 'rents flashed the cash XD Went online for a bit in the early evening and then went out for some light dinner at a bar. Chow Mein with proper 'snap apart' chopsticks, hehe. Went online for a bit afterwards.
Today I really haven't done too much. Went down the supermarket in the morning and bought milk and stuff and then in ther afternoon we went shopping and bought some clothes and stuff. This evening we ended up down Maccie D's and then came back and came online.
Now for the slightly more interesting (and random) part of my post. Last night dragon_bite and I were bored so we challenged each other to a short drabble each. The original idea was 'one character, one object, one paragraph' but I ended up with two and a half paragraphs, so meh.
Bite gave me Rock Lee and Jiraiya's funky sandals, so witout further ado:
Lee stared through highly bewildered eyes at the red sandal he currently held in his hand. Naruto had just now run up to him, forced the sandal in his hand and carried on running. The bowl headed boy turned the sandal round in his hand, wondering what the hell he was supposed to do with it. It really was quite a hip sandal; the two block bits on the bottom, serving as a heel of sorts, made it quite different to the sandals he was currently wearing.
Lee began to wonder if he’d get to keep this nice looking sandal and whether there was any chance of getting the other one. His dreams came crashing down to the ground all of a sudden when a scary looking man ran past him, hastily grabbing at the sandal. He had a mass of white hair and was hopping about madly as he ran due to only having one sandal on him. He angrily called out Naruto’s name at the same time as pulling his sandal back on his now muck covered foot.
Lee let out a disappointed sigh and continued on his way to meeting up with his team. Maybe Gai-sensei would know where to get a hold of a pair of those hip sandals. Lee’s eyes sparkled in anticipation and he hurried on his way.
And finally we have tonight's random drabble. telosphilos challenged me to a short drabble about Iruka breaking up a school yard fight between two members of the rookie nine. I chose Naruto and Kiba in the end and it ended up being nearly 200 words longer than it was meant to be but meh, still drabble sized in my opinion.
Iruka sat at his desk marking the previous night’s homework at an admirable rate, his knitted brow evidence enough that the papers held his complete concentration. The kids were currently outside enjoying their lunchtime recess and he was putting the time to good use to get most of the marking out of the way with, thus leaving him mostly free to do as he pleased that evening.
He was just about to pick up the sixth paper in the pile when a loud yell, that couldn’t have been anyone else but one Uzumaki Naruto, rang through Iruka’s ears like the school bell if you’re standing right next to it. The young Chuunin teacher let out an exasperated sigh and dragged his chair back, stood up and immediately made for the school yard, which was filling with the yells of excited pre-genin, egging on the fight that had surely started up between Naruto and at least one of the other students.
Iruka walked into the school yard to see a gaggle of nine and ten year olds whooping and cheering at the fierce fist fight going on in front of them. Naruto and Inuzuka Kiba currently held each other by their collars and appeared to be growling and bearing teeth with serious intent to hurt the other. Iruka made up his mind quickly and moved swiftly to the ten year olds’ and grabbed both of them by the backs of their coats. He glared at both boys, one at a time and then let rip with one of his famous shouted lectures.
“What do you two think you’re doing? This is a school yard for playing in, save the fighting for the classroom practices!” Iruka could physically feel a vein popping in his forehead as he yelled.
Naruto and Kiba immediately shrank back into the scared little ten year olds one would expect to see after having experienced one of Iruka’s shouted lectures. Iruka felt relatively pleased with himself and plonked them back on the ground, giving them both silent glares that basically told them that trying anything else that day would be the worst idea either of them had ever had.
The Chuunin teacher was sat back at his desk, calmly marking papers again, before either boy dared even breathe loudly again.
And I'm done and just about ready for bed. Guess I better end this entry with this:
