So I got out of hospital yesterday, just in the nick of time for my birthday today. It became apparent on Wednesday that I was gonna most likely make it out on time, as they took one drain out and said the other should come out on Thursday. Which it did, along with the epidural and the catheter. Spent another night there so they could monitor me without all my tubes for 24 hours and then I got discharged yesterday afternoon.
So today has been my birthday. Been very low key compared to previous years but hey, a) I'm living in the sticks right now, and b) I only just got out of hospital, lol. I'm incredibly sore still but I've managed to have a fairly nice day. Mum invited the neighours over and we had afternoon tea in the garden, haha. Mum made me a chocolate fudge marble cake for a birthday cake, which was gorgeous, as always :D
I got some nice presents. Mum bought me a really nice purple Radley bag, and this New York puzzle in a suitcase. Difficult to explain but it is so awesome! Haha. Henry got me a book, Rivers of London by Ben Aaronovitch, which I've been wanting for ages! One of the taglines in it is 'What would happen if Harry Potter grew up and joined the Fuzz', lol. And, of course, Liverpool beat Wolves 2-1, which was another good birthday present. And LFC TV read my tweet out on air! Teehee :)
But yes, I'm allowed to have my stitches out on Tuesday, so I'm hoping I'll get an appointment at the surgery for then and can get these blasted things out cause they are causing most the pain right now. Trying to get comfortable for sleep at night is hell. Not looking forward to it tonight, but I am knackered, so soon as MOTD is over I will need to sleep.
