Kidney update 101

Jul 28, 2010 00:19

Yup, it's that time again. Time for another kidney-related entry, haha.

S'nothing much really. Just went to the hospital today for a Nuclear Medicine Renal Scan. Yeah, right mouthful, lol. Basically, I had this slightly radioactive stuff injected into my vein, which lit up my insides, so that they could check how well the kidney was actually working. This was done with a gamma camera scanner thingy. I had to lay on my back for half an hour under this machine, with a butterfly needle sticking out my arm for 15 mins (which killed everytime I so much as twitched my arm).

The absolute worst thing though was this:

She had to inject a diuretic in my arm halfway through the scan, which left me feeling like dire shite for the rest of the day. I had to get the bus from hospital to work after my scan. This took about an hour. I started needing the loo bout halfway through the journey. Was actually in dire straits by the time I got off the bus. God, never been in that much pain from needing the loo before, urgh.

But yeah, hopefully find out the results of the scan in a a couple of weeks (here's betting I'll have to phone for them 'cause my consultant sure won't bother contacting me D: ).

In other news...

Still trying to decide whether to invest in Sky Sports for the footie season or not. I really want to watch Liverpool's games and some La Liga matches. It costs like £20 a month. Plus it'd only be worth getting it if I also got sky multiroom too, so that I could watch any matches I liked from the comfort of my bedroom. So do I really want to fork out £30 a month on this? Really really unsure.

And in slightly related news...

The transfer rumours are really pissing me off. Look, you bloody pathetic journos, Torres is not going to Man City and he is not going to Chelsea. He's staying at my motherfucking club. So back the fuck off!! Rawr!

Lookit his ickle face ♥ (note the Liverpool scarf, bitches)

Okay, m'done. Gonna read teeny bit more fic then go to bed. Got 4 more days work this week, since I stupidly said I'd work Saturday. Bleh.
