Just got back from work. Of course. Yesterday's day off was sooo good. I played Lego Star Wars 2 - best game ever! You just get to blow lego up a whole lot, awesome! - and I read the first few chapters of Twilight - It's actually not as bad as I thought *sheepish face* Also caught up on some fanfic reading, posted a chapter of my fic *shocku!!* and y'know, generally enjoyed my sudden day off, heh.
Today it was rather treacherous walking up the road to the bus stop (converse and ice do not mix >.<) I made it in one piece though (and it was just as bad on the way back tonight but yeah, I somehow made it back still on my feet, so all is good). Was busy as at work, of course. Spent a lot of time on tills. Then did the book charts, as always. All well and good. I also um...bought the first three Stephanie Meyer books, so Jenni can get her copy of Twilight back now. I kinda had to 'cause I know I'll want to read the other ones and this was the last day the kids books were on 3 for 2, so.
Then tonight, after the store closed, we brought up the many many boxes of Beedle the Bard. Now this book (I'm sure everyone know's it's the Harry Potter spin off, heh) has been all hyped up for pre-order and shit since before I even started working at Smiths back in September. So you can forgive me when I say that when I opened one of the boxes, I felt a huuuge wave of disappointment wash through me. My first thought was:
IS THIS FUCKING IT??
No word of a lie. It's such a puny, pointless looking thing. Honest to god. I know it's like a book for charity (or mostly, or whatever) but dude! What the hell was everyone getting so hyped about?? Maybe, I'm just not a big enough Potter fan. I mean, hell I enjoy the books, like a lot. I cried so hard through most of the books, esp. the last ^^; But just no...not impressed D:
Anyways, the store's opening at 7am tomorrow because of this puny book, but I doubt anyone will actually be there to buy it 'cause we've not advertised it. How silly is that? Lol. I shan't be there 'til 9 though. I needs my beauty sleep, mhm!
That's about it for my update. Ooh, but on a parting note...anyone been keeping up with MCR's blogs on their website?? Frank's one about Gerard having clones made me laugh so hard. I gotta agree with him though, Gerard is faaaar too productive, lolol.
