Rightie, I'm in the computer room at uni 'cause I don't wanna be home right now 'cause these people are meant to be coming round to evaluate the house for a remortgage or something. Nothing to do with us, since we're just renting, but blah, I hate being in when strangers are walking about the house :/ So here I am, killing time in the only way I know how, haha.
So Wednesday turned into a bit of a nightmare, to be honest. Ria and I went into the centre to do some shopping, having completely forgotten about the UEFA Cup final being hosted in Manchester this year ^^; So we get in only to find the place swarming with Rangers fans getting drunk, despite it being only 1pm :/ We lasted an hour, I think (mostly 'cause we wandered round Selfridges and Harvey Nics, haha), before catching the bus home again. Then we picked up supplies (water, pringles and books) and went to the park for a couple hours to chill.
We went to Sapporos Teppanyaki Wedenesday evening, as planned. We shared a bus with some footie fan stragglers *rolls eyes* but arrived at the restaurant in plenty of time for our 8pm booking. They put on a wonderful show, as they always do. The food was good! I um...also managed to splatter egg everywhere when they were getting us to go up and try and flick the egg with a spatular into a chef hat sitting on the top of our heads. It was very impressive, hahaha. So yes, we had a very fun evening. That is until we stupidly left the restaurant at 9:45, which, of course, was just after the football had finished >.< So we ended up having to get a taxi home 'cause the buses were clogged up with drunken footie fans.
In hindsight, I am incredibly glad we were safely in the restaurant by 8pm, 'cause apparently that's when all the violence started, in relation to the footie. I feel sorry for anyone that was in the centre of Manchester when all that was happening. Bloody drunken idiots creating trouble all the time, not to mention ruining our city :/
Yesterday, Ria and I went to the Trafford Centre. We had lunch at Pizza Hut, which was nice and cheap after the night before's bill, haha. Then we did some shopping. I bought a waistcoat (I finally found just the sort I was looking for, and it was only £12, woo!) and an orange jumper (I think I officially own too much orange clothing ^^; ). Then at 5pm we went to the cinema and saw Iron Man, which was very good! By the time we got the bus home we were pretty knackered, so we decided against going out and watched some telly instead (Hellboy was on, coincidentally, so we watched that, haha).
Which brings us nicely to today. I saw Ria off on her train back to Norwich at 11:30 and have been killing time ever since. So a rather full couple of days, hehe :) Think I'm gonna drink tea in the refectory now and read some more Northern Lights. Yeay for academic reading XD
