Lions Event and thoughts on Michael
Haven't updated for a while- my job is far more active than when I was in my Brussels, so computer time is rarer and home also has more calls on my time, its also the reason why I haven't written any LT fic in months if not a year.
I've played Michael D'Ascoyne now for about 9 days spread over 4 events, and he is a character I'd been planning for some time on and off, and had kind of firmed up the basic premise about a week before I lost Karnak which was quite helpful, and even more so the final details about 2 hours before (thanks Emma) ;)
I envisioned him as a hero and as refined, and hopefully that's coming across, looking good is important and I'm very pleased how the kit/look has worked out, hopefully M will be able to expand his wardrobe further but she has her own priorities now
This weekend allowed me to further develop the character, I managed to keep Alan's less polished side under wraps more, and poker faced a bit better. I also got to push my love of heraldry and geneaology more, and my IC friendships in my new group and outside certainly developed.
So Hots and Nots
Nots-
The Weather, which in turn led to
Event Pacing- I was wondering If I'd get home for bedtime for the girls, (We did by about 20 mins)
3 Months of planning being scuppered because the person in charge didn't listen :(
The final encounter- We're just leaving a Death Knight loose on Gallathrix and going home, Sorry could you say that again.
Rituals- It's not my department anymore and that may have had an effect on my views but I wouldn't have chosen those options.
No food left at the final lunch
Since most of the nots are all focused on the last day, it may explain why I left site feeling decidedly Meh about it all.
Hots-
The Ramada Encore 29 quid a night and was the best motorway hotel I've stayed in, it also had a pub with an all you can eat buffet breakfast :)
The site- The problems we had didn't detract from the fact that it's a good site with lost of running around space, the hall change hurt but wasn't insurmountable and the mud was more to do with the weather than the site itself.
