Poke #2
OK, eventually the poke joke will get old. Yesterday was acupuncture appointment number 2, and I'm kind of amazed at the results. We did both acupuncture (with electricity) and cupping again, and so I have about 13 hickeys on my back, but I'm as relaxed today as I normally am when I get off the massage table.
We talked more about what cupping is really supposed to do, and after telling her that using metaphysical terms is totally OK with me, here's what she said. Cupping is mostly to draw out the stored/blocked energy that's in the muscles, causing the tension. Since I'm sooooo good at holding things in, it just makes sense that this would be working on me.
Of course the down side is that my back looks like I've been doing something really kinky. I can just imagine what someone would think if we were going to have sex and he saw all those bruises on my back.
On another note, my Mom made a profile on www.perfectmatch.com which totally surprised me. When Dad died and someone asked her if she was going to start looking for husband #3, her response was "Oh please, I can't be bothered with someone else's nonsense this late in my life", but I guess she's changed her mind. Hopefully she'll at least meet a couple of friends to go do stuff with at her pace when she retires. I put a profile on there too, but it looks like it's mostly for the hetero crowd, from the way things are phrased on the questionnaire. And of course, you can't do much of anything unless you pay $100 for a 4-month membership. Oy. What ever happened to trial periods where they don't bill you?
