Folks,
I've become a volunteer for the Polyamory Media Association (see
http://polyinthemedia.blogspot.com/2010/03/pln-polyamory-media-association-and.html )
and am passing this on for anyone who might be interested:
A local TV news show in Cleveland is looking for open-relationship spokespeople to interview...
...supposedly to show that some couples have a better way than cheating. The request comes from Stacey Bell, longtime co-anchor of Fox 8 News. She sounds sympathetic -- see her letter below -- and local Fox affiliates are often very different from Fox News. However, Susan Wright of the National Coalition for Sexual Freedom (NCSF) does warn that Fox affiliates tend to be more sensational than average in how they treat alt sex topics in the news.
We presume they'd prefer a married couple willing to appear together, or better, a married couple and a third partner willing to appear together.
If you or people you know are interested, the Polyamory Media Association (a project of the Polyamory Leadership Network) can help you to investigate further, and to prep to be an articulate, powerful, relaxed, effective TV presence -- even if you've never been on TV before. The PMA exists to help poly people become effective spokespeople for their ideas in any media situation. We can help teach you how to come across like a pro. And we're free.
In you're interested, write to info (at) polymediaassociation (dot) com , or see
www.PolyMediaAssociation.com .
Cheers,
Alan M.

My name is Stacey Bell. I am an anchor with WJW FOX 8 here in
Cleveland.
I am desperately trying to find someone who is a proponent of "open
marriages" and willing do an on camera interview about the benefits
of an open relationship.
I found your information on the internet and I sincerely hope you can
help us.
My voice mail at the station is not working, so if you are interested
please e-mail me. We can talk more about the direction of the story,
I can even e-mail you a list of questions, if you or someone from your
organization agrees to talk with us on camera.
You can also give me your number and I will call you sometime after
3pm.
My direct line at work is 216-432-4090, but I'm rarely at my desk.
The voice mail will only send you into the abyss that is our phone system.
I really hope you can help us, in light of all the recent infidelity
scandals people should know more about the option of open marriage.
Stacey Bell
